Homeowners & private clients

Single properties, handled by the same team as the programmes.

A large part of our work is one house at a time. Whether it is funded through the Warm Homes: Local Grant or paid for privately, the same assessors, coordinators and installers are involved.

Warm Homes: Local Grant

Eligibility is checked against the scheme criteria before anything else happens. If the property qualifies, a retrofit assessment follows and the approved measures are installed and lodged in the usual way.

Privately funded retrofit

A costed improvement plan for the property, sequenced so fabric measures come before heating and ventilation is dealt with alongside them. Work can be phased over more than one year.

Single measures

Wall or loft insulation, solar PV and battery storage, or an air source heat pump sized from a room-by-room heat loss calculation rather than a rule of thumb.

Certification and aftercare

TrustMark lodgement, MCS certificates, warranties and an updated EPC, issued as a handover pack, with a named contact for anything that comes up afterwards.

Do I have to move out?
No. Almost all of our work is done in occupied homes. External insulation is worked from scaffold outside, and heating changeovers are planned so the property is not left without hot water overnight.
How long does it take?
A single home with a full measure package is typically a few weeks on site once the assessment and design are complete. Single measures are usually days.
Why does ventilation keep coming up?
Insulating and sealing a house without adjusting ventilation is how condensation and mould start. Extract ventilation is specified with the fabric measures, not bolted on later.
Will my EPC actually change?
The assessment models the expected uplift before work starts and a new EPC is lodged afterwards. If the modelled result and the lodged result do not match, that is looked at before sign-off.
